Description
Pendref Independent Chapel was built in 1882 to the design of architect Owen Williams of Bangor. This chapel is built in the Classical style with two storeys, a gable entry plan and large pane round-headed windows. Pendref was built in 1881 following a split between members of the York Place Ebenezer Chapel congregation in 1879. The Royal Commission on the Church of England and Other Religious Buildings in Wales and Monmouthshire in 1905 records the chapel as having seating for 600, and the value as £3500.

Pendref was reuited with Ebenezer Congregationalist Chapel, York Place in 1967 when the York Place Chapel closed. Pendref is now Grade 2 Listed, status (2011); in use as a chapel.
