Description
1. An early Bronze Age round barrow. When dug in 1860, mound recorded as 27.3m in diameter and 2.7m high. Trench showed a 'low wall' of stones found on S side, two post holes on N. Found fragments of dagger and sheath, flint flakes. By 1973 excavation, height reduced to 1m, two ditches we condition=Damaged STATUS=descheduled

2. When visited in 1999 the barrow was still clearly visible as a spread mound, its edge imperceptible as it merges with the surrounding field, and measuring up to 40m diameter and 0.3m high on land which is currently under the plough.

3. Cropmarks recorded during aerial reconnaissance in 2018 show a pair of plough-levelled round barrows 250m to the west (NPRN 423338).
