Description
Bartley's House and Cobblers shop, Denbigh, is former mid-17th century, stone-built, 1 ? storey, 2-unit, hearth-passage house which has remains of a timber-framed storeyed porch to the front, but has been altered and modernised with a shop front projection enveloping the porch, and storeyed wings added at the rear. The cross-passage was said to have provided access to other cottages within the rear walled yard (see OS 1:500 map). The building is presently divided into 2 shops, one a cobblers shop (formerly Bartleys) at ground-floor, both with flats over.
