Pennal is a small village situated on the Afon Pennal, within the Dyffryn (Dovey) valley approx. 3 miles west of Machynlleth. The village includes St Peter and Vincula's church (NPRN: 300379), Carmel Welsh Independent chapel (NPRN: 8565) and Pennal Wesleyan Methodist chapel (NPRN: 8569). The village also has a primary school.
