Description
The remains of a small Roman practice camp at Llwyncadwgan are visible as a soilmark on aerial photographs, close to the Roman fort at Caerau (NPRN 92153) and another possible practice camp (NPRN 308499).

Information from Rebecca Jones 16.07.03

An ephemeral rectangular enclosure, as above, about 38m by 48m, having an east(?)- facing entrance. It is set upon a slight rise or knoll. The enclosure is probably a minor Roman military enclosure. Practice works were built by the Roman army as field exercises.

Air Photos: CUAP Collection; RCAHMW coverage.
