Description
A tunnel runs under the A5 Holyhead Road; it is built on a curve and measures 22.0m long, 1.85m high and averages 2.10m wide. The vertical side walls of rubble support a modern concrete roof which carries the road. It is not known if the original tunnel was arched or if concrete has simply replaced earlier stone or slate lintels carrying the A5 road.
Site visited B.A.Malaws, 27 February 1992.
