Description
Overbridge, Glyncorrwg Railway. SS 7896 9818.
1. At the SE end of a rock cutting are remains of an overbridge, formerly carrying a track, which has collapsed making a local hump in the railway trackbed. The NE abutment is visible as a line of facing stones at ground level 3.6m long, and although there is no trace of the SW abutment face, the bridge may have been about 8.5m span and probably arched. Core masonry overhangs the NE abutment facing stones, which may represent the arch springing level, approximately 3.8m above the trackbed, and the deck of the bridge would have been about 3.3m above this.
Site visited B.A.Malaws, 20 February 1992.
