Description
The circular pigsty at Bryn Gelli is thought to date from between the late 18th century and early 19th century. Listed as a well preserved building type which was once common, but now rare, the pigsty is partly built into the boundary wall of the garden at Bryn Gelli. It consists of rubble stone laid in courses which curve to form a conical chamber. This chamber is crowned on top by a domed capping stone. Entrance to the sty was through a small flat headed opening which is now blocked.
