The Lough Zinc Works were situated on the east bank of the estuary of the river Loughor. The works date from the early 19th century and probably had a total of eight furnaces in two rows.

The works are portrayed as 'in ruins' on OS County series mapping (1879), parchmarks are visible on aerial photographs.
