In the Charge Mixing house, the main ingredients of Black Powder: Saltpetre (Potassium Nitrate), Sulphur and Charcoal, were mixed together here to form the `Green Charge'. Built by 1877,
The building consisted of (West-East): Machinery Store (No.17 on the Nobel Plan)
Mixing House (No.20 on the Nobel Plan)
Charcoal Grinding (No.21 on the Nobel Plan)
Sulphur Grinding (No.22 on the Nobel Plan)
The building has been demolished.
