Description

The village of Llanrhystud, named after St. Rhystyd, is situated on the A487 coast road between the towns of Aberystwyth and Aberaeron at the point where the river Wyre flows to the sea.  

Industry included lime processing, ship building until c1860. There was a woollen factory consisting of a carding and spinning mill, with attached pandy (fulling mill) which was later converted to a sawmill. Three corn mills. 

The church of St. Rhystyd is grade II listed is Victorian with a medieval tower.  

The village has a primary school (Ysgol Wirfoddol Myfenydd) and a public house (The Black Lion).
