DescriptionConstructed at a cost of £850, the open-air swimming baths in Aberdare Park opened in June 1902 and were operated by Aberdare Urban District Council. The first such baths in the district, they remained extant until the 1980s when the construction of modern, indoor swimming baths encouraged a decline in their use. Demolished and the pool filled in, the site was grassed over and remains in this condition today.
