DescriptionLlwydcoed was originally a village based on agriculture but grew in the early 1800's with the advent of the Aberdare Ironworks. Housing in the Tregibbon area of Llwydcoed was built to house the workers with further building from the 1820's with for example Miner's Row (NPRN: 302008). Exhibition Row, denoted on the Glamorgan 4th edition Ordnance Survey County Series mapping of 1951 is Exhibition Row, built for the Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace. Further building has taken place in Llwydcoed, with housing continuing to be built on the outskirts of the town.
