A Bar Post is shown, located approx 300 m north-west off Salthouse Point. Sailing Directions dating to 1884 note 'There are several culm pits on the marsh near the shore, and a jetty for small vessels to load, on the bight westward of Salthouse point.' No obvious signs of a quay or jetty are visible on OS 1st or 2nd editons mapping, although tracks are shown leading down to the foreshore from the Llanmorlais Colliery on OS 2nd edition mapping at SS52389461.
