DescriptionCloddfa Gwanas is a C19 slate quarry (nprn 401448), disused by the time of the 1890 OS map. This quarry is a curving trench is cut into a steep E-facing outcrop. It is 10m long S-N, before continuing NE for a further 6m, and up to 3m high, exposing a rock-face with inclined beds. The relatively small scale of this working at Gloddfa Gwanas, suggests it one of the earlier workings.
