1. Described as a 'mansion house' in a deed of 1762 (NLW Neuadd Fawr 463). Now a Youth Hostel. Not visited (TA & HJ James 1999).
2. The Youth Hostel Association opened Ty'n Cornel as a youth hostel in 1968. They sold it in 2005, and it was bought by the Elenydd Wilderness Hostels Trust, who reopened it as an indendent hostel, together with the nearby Dol-Goch Hostel. Ty'n Cornel is sometimes refered to as 'the most remote hostel in Wales'
