Description
Bethel Welsh Independent Chapel was built in 1925 and replaced an existing Chapel opened in 1825 (NPRN 12251). This new small, red brick building is Arts and Crafts/Gothic in design with a gable entry facade. The projecting porch has angle buttresses, parapet and flat roof over a gabled doorway with a recessed arch, Gothic-style wooden door and flanking windows. Above the porch there is a triplet of square headed windows. There are six buttresses to each side of the building, between tall casement windows with simplified Caernarvon arch heads. Within the church there is a panelled Sedd Fawr (deacon's seat) and pulpit. The datestone is inscribed: BETHEL, 19 ADDOLY 25, YR, ANNIBYNWYR.
