Description
The Stepney Street Arcade was built in 1894-5. It is a two storey arcade with a glazed roof, originally with twelve shops below and fourteen sets of offices above. The Stepney Street facade is ornate and overbearing. The walls are red brick with frequent bathstone dressings. A plain modern parapet has replaced the original cornice. The rear entrance in Frederick Street gave access to a foot bridge across the Afon Lliedi.
