Description
The Town Hall, Laugharne, dates from 1747 with later alterations. There is a white-washed square clock tower, a Town/Market Hall, a low lean-to goal extension of 1774, an adjoining gabled porch of 1910 and a much restored market lean-to at the rear. A wooden bellcote and weathercock were added to tower in 1786.

The interior retains a court room to the first floor which has a timber dais with ornate iron bracketed lamps from which the Portreeve conducts the meetings of Laugharne Corporation (unique in Wales in retaining this form of local government). There is also a Regency fireplace. The building at one time held a school and the Public Library.
